Systems of Addiction
This project analyzes the system of opioid addiction in Western Pennsylvania using systems thinking. In a group of six, we were tasked with mapping the systemic problems which resulted in cycles of opioid addiction. We focused our map on the hierarchy of stakeholders, their individual goals, and their relationships. Through our analysis of the agents in this system we were able to consider possible intervention points to improve the system and help overcome and avoid addiction. Our final map was displayed at the Related Systems Thinking and Design Symposium in 2019.
